About me
James Renton is a soon-to-be graduate of Northern Kentucky University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education in May 2025. This summer, James will begin their career as a music educator at Dr. J. Blaine Hudson Middle School in Louisville, Kentucky.
A 2020 graduate of duPont Manual High School, James was actively involved in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), where they served as Chapter Vice President of Public Relations (2018–2019) and Region 6 First Vice President (2019–2020).
During their time at NKU, James has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and service. They served in Student Government, chairing the University Improvements Committee, and held the role of President for Friends of Dorothy from 2022 to 2024. In 2024, James also led the Alpha Gamma Phi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega as Chapter President and currently serves as President of the APO Greater Cincinnati Alumni Association.
Outside of the academic year, James works with the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts, continuing their passion for arts education and youth development. James is dedicated to fostering inclusive, student-centered learning environments and brings a deep enthusiasm for music and community engagement to all their work.
